J.C. Bose University Vice Chancellor Conferred ‘Most Eminent Vice-Chancellor Award’

PNN/ Faridabad: Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been conferred with India’s “Most Eminent Vice Chancellor Award” under 8th International Human Rights Award-2018 and 8th Bhartiya Manava Adhikar Samman-2018 instituted by All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS), for Peace Harmony, Protecting and Promoting Human Rights through Education, in an impressive function organised at India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi.

The award has been bestowed on him for his outstanding contribution to the Education Sector as Vice Chancellor, on the occasion of International Human Rights Day celebrations. This prestigious award which carries ‘Certificate of Excellence’ is given to those individuals, world peace leaders and business leaders who show exceptional leadership in serving to humanity.

Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that it was an honour to receive this award from a platform which is dedicated for the protection of human rights and serving the mankind, especially to those who are economically and socially marginalised in the society. J.C. Bose University has been working towards imparting technical and skill based education to the students since its inception and contributing to the society through value based education. This award is dedicated to the everyone who have contributed towards the progress of the University as an Institution of Excellence, and serving humanity in their own ways, he added.

Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who is also the recipient of prestigious Homi J. Bhabha Memorial Award of Indian Science Congress awarded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2016, is the fifth Vice Chancellor of J.C. Bose University and his tenure as Vice Chancellor has been remarkable and the University has made notable achievements under his leadership.
On the Academic front, the University has received ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC and NBA accreditation of its various courses. The University has also made its presence in NIRF ranking at National level. The University has also got affiliating status and 18 Engineering Colleges in district Palwal and Faridabad are now affiliated with the University.
Due to his untiring efforts, the University has succeeded in getting grants from Central Agencies under TEQIP-3 and RUSA which has boosted the academic and infrastructural development. An ardent researcher Prof. Dinesh Kumar, who obtained his Master and Ph.D degree from Cambridge University, has published more than 100 research papers and his teaching and research career spans over 30 years.

AICHLS is founded by Dr Anthony Raju, a Supreme Court of India advocate who is an internationally acclaimed Human Rights defender, peace activist and social worker and is one of the country’s foremost voices of Human Rights.

AICHLS has been added as a signatory to United Nation Global Compact which is the world’s largest corporate responsibility initiative with nearly 12,000 business and non-business participants in 140 countries.
