PNN India: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organized an interactive session on ‘Self-Reliant India: Members Of Parliament Vision For Empowering India’ with dignitaries including Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, MP, Lok Sabha, Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh) Party, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Manoj Kumar Tiwari, MP, Lok Sabha, North East Delhi (NCT of Delhi) Party, Bhartiya Janta Party.
The session was moderated by Prema Sridevi, Journalist. She raised queries regarding the situation of COVID-19, addressing the problem of growing unemployment, the overall downward situation of the economy and others.
Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted the spike spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and spread of information and other measures adopted by his constituency in combating the spread of the pandemic. He emphasized that this is not the time to play politics; it’s time to assist the government in the best possible manner.
Talking about migrant labour, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu suggested that their movement should have been more systemically done with provision of proper food and accommodation.
While lauding the steps of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said that this needs to be rooted long term goal that can be achieved with strong robust policy-making, active communication, and involvement of each citizen.
Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu spoke about that Monsoon session of Parliament is approaching and how all 543 MPs will assemble safely in Delhi. He said now a days PM is meeting virtually with CMs and industry people regularly. Why not all MPs should meet virtually even though it will be a challenging task but will be a big achievement if all 543 MPs connect virtually.
Manoj Kumar Tiwari, while deliberating about the COVID-19 situation, mentioned that his constituency, being densely populated, is going through a tough time. In the past few days, there is an increase in the establishments of test centers; hospitals that will hopefully lead to an overall improvement in the situation.
Peter Rimmele, Resident Representative to India, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) gave the German perspective of being Self Reliant. He emphasized the need for young leaders in politics that can strengthen the bond between India and Germany.
He said that COVID-19 has made us realize to expand international relations to various parts of the world. He lauded the steps taken by the Government of India in making India self-reliant and deliberated the rise of global powers post COVID-19 and the shift change in international relations.
Dr. D K Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his presidential remarks appreciated the bold steps undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in making India self-reliant and promoting local manufacturing of goods and services. He highlighted that every adversity brings an opportunity. During this pandemic, India realized their dependence on global markets in various sectors like health and pharmaceutical.
Pradeep Multani, Vice President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered a formal vote of thanks to all the esteemed delegates and participants. He assured that PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry will always stand in full support and solidarity with the government and it’s ministries to help India fight the battle against COVID-19.
