J.C. Bose University holds Business Meet as Alumni Reunion

PNN/Faridabad: The Department of Management Studies in association with Industrial Relations Cell of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad organized a Business Meet with all the Alumni in the University premises. The Business Meet was the part of Alumni Reunion of the Department of Management Studies. A number of Alumni from various pass out batches joined the meet. 
This Business session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar and accompanied by senior functionaries. A lot of deliberations were made to develop symbiotic relationship between department and Alumni. Dean (Institutions) Dr. Sandeep Grover, Dean (Management) Dr. Arvind Gupta, Chairperson Management Studies Dr. Ashutosh Nigam and other distinguished alumni members.
Prof. Ashutosh Nigam welcomed the Alumni and expressed that the meet would be a new milestone in furthering the relation between department and Alumni family. Prof. Arvind Gupta, Dean of the Department, in his address emphasized the importance of professional networking and expressed the confidence that the Business meet will take the Department-Alumni relation forward and bring in new expertise for the growth of department. 
Prof. Suresh Bedi dilated upon the core purpose of pre-inaugural business session and spelt out the points of deliberation in the session. Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean institutions, stressed upon the need for continuous interaction and exchange between the department and alumni and, expressed that the session would generate new ideas for the central alumni association of the University. 
In his opening address in the session, Vice-chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar stated that alumni are an important part of University fraternity and always keep to extend support to the students and institution.
In the business session conducted by Prof. Suresh Bedi, six points for deliberation were rolled out on discussion table. These included forms of engagement of alumni with the department and the students, alumni development program for career progression and measures for strengthening the department’s alumni interaction platform. The alumni actively participated in the deliberation and based on their industry experience, they put on several new ideas for strengthening teaching learning process and providing relevant support to the students. Alumni expressed their keen willingness to provide project counselling, specialized lectures and employment guidance to the students. Many alumni offered to support the department in arranging internships, live projects, placements and industry visits and entrepreneurship related activities. The alumni proposed several areas for management development program and short-term certificate courses for their career progression. In this context, Prof. Bedi informed that the department is already conducting MBA Executive program for industry professionals and a doctoral program in management with many scholars in the industry. 
It was resolved that the interaction platform will be strengthened through newsletter, social media groups, central alumni portal and alumni chapters.
