PNN India: Thousands of people continue to suffer in district Anantnag as the Laripora-Golf course road in shambles.

The work on construction of the road was started 3 Yrs ago but still pending till date.

The local residents have approached the concerned authorities number of times, but to no avail.

While the PDA has spent crores on concertina wires, no heed is being paid to repeated pleas of the inhabitants, who have to face the brunt of the dilapidated condition of the road, more so during rainy season.

It affects the tourist flow to Laripora area, where a sizeabe chunk of Guests Houses and Hotels are located.

Although the residents were assured that road will developed in the coming years but is still waiting for .

“Laripora-Golf course road is in a bad condition and is taking a heavy toll on the health of travelers and the the administration has failed to macdamise the road ” locals told.

A senior citizen of Pahalgam told, “At least 20,000 people suffer as the road is in shambles. For the last one year, authorities have failed to macdamise the road. It has developed huge potholes and has become unbearable for people to travel on this road.”

Another local told that “Nobody is bothered to pay heed towards our inconveniences. The road turns muddy during rains. The road has been abandoned by the authorities.”
